Professor of economics and Vice Dean of Research, University of Stavanger
Ragnar Tveterås is an economics professor and Vice Dean of Research at the University of Stavanger (UiS) Business School. He has a PhD from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). Throughout his research career Tveterås has focused on seafood and energy value chains from primary production to final consumer markets. He is concerned about the conditions for sustainable growth and innovation of industrial sectors, including the impacts of government policies and regulation.
Tveterås’ research output is around 50 articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has been head of a number of research projects funded by the Norwegian government and others. In 2013 he was appointed by the Norwegian government to head a green paper commission which proposed future policies for the seafood industry (NOU 2014:16). Tveterås has advised and collaborated with e.g. Norwegian Seafood Council, Norwegian Seafood Federation, FAO, OECD, Global Aquaculture Alliance, and a number of private companies.
